Why are .edu and .Gov Backlinks important?
Webmasters believe that having a .gov or .edu website linking to you will give you more link juice. Is this proven? No, But if alot of webmasters are saying it works it must be true it does not hurt to try.
So how do you find them?
To find these type of backlinks you will have to use a advanced google search. Here is an example of a advanced google search i have used in the past to find one way profile backlinks “powered by vbulletin” site:.edu inurl:register. This will find all forums powered by vbulletin, Will find links useing .edu and will find the register form.
site:.edu (Search results will only show .EDU domains)
site:.gov (Search results will only show .GOV domains)
inurl:searchterm (search results will only show websites with this word/phrase in the URL.
